11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
This Child is no ordinary child. He is is the Savior. He is the Messiah. HE IS LORD!
12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
This Child is no ordinary child. He was spoken about long before He was ever born. All through the ages, the prophets of God spoke of this child.....this Savior......this Messiah......this Lord....who is God.....He would come into this world and take on human flesh and live with His own creation.
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Don't miss what the prophet is saying. The Hebrew word "Immanuel" means God with us!
The prophet Isaiah further goes on to tell us exactly who this child is:
Isaiah 9: 6
In This one verse of scripture, you can see God in His Triune Being:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
You see The Holy Spirit who is our Wonderful Counselor.
You see Mighty God and Everlasting Father.
You see God the Son who is our Prince of Peace.
Again, The Prophet Jeremiah spoke of this special child when he made this prophecy about Him:
14The days are coming, 'declares the Lord, 'when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah.
15“‘In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land.
The prophet Jeremiah declared that this righteous Branch will be a descendant in the line of King David.....a man......but the rest of the prophecy reveals much more
This righteous Branch is our LORD (YHWH).......our Righteous Savior. This child, that Jeremiah foretold would one day come, is God in the flesh....He is our Savior.
16 In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’
This is the reason we worship this Child. It is the reason why we worship Jesus who is our Lord and Savior.....because He is GOD.
1 Timothy 3:16
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest (readily perceived by the eye or the understanding; evident; obvious; apparent) in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
This is the reason we worship this Child. It is the reason why we worship Jesus our Lord and Savior.....because He is GOD. WE DO NOT WORSHIP A MERE man EVER.
Jesus loved us so much that He willing did the will of His Father in heaven....coming into His own creation......to live, to teach, to suffer, and to ultimately die a sinners death on the cross.....so we would become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21
21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
So this Christmas season, let us celebrate the birth of this One and only begotten Son of God (read John 3:16). This child, that was foretold to us long ago by His prophets, before His birth. It is my belief the Bible is the biography of Jesus Christ. He is everywhere in Scripture....from the very beginning and to the very end. He is the Alpha and the Omega.
Let us worship this child.....our King of kings.
Amen! Praise God! Halleluiah!
I See Him! I See Him! God's WORD (read John 1: 1-5) to Witness By!
